Long ago in a faraway land, there lived the peaceful people of Merlwood. Here, the art of magic had been refined until all aspects of life were in some way related to magic, and powerful wizards and magicians kept order. Then the inevitable happened: Abadon, one of the most powerful magicians, decided that has was tired of always helping the people. He figured that with a little help, he could easily take over; and so he built a massive castle, and conjured up all sorts of evil beasts to destroy the other wizards.
